Bruce Barrett


For 16 years, Bruce Barrett led Somanetics Corporation (previously NASDAQ: SMTS) from its early development stage to its ultimate sale to Covidien (now Medtronic) for total consideration of $329 million. Somanetics pioneered the market for monitoring the tissue oxygen saturation in brain and muscle tissue using near-infrared spectroscopy with the INVOSR Cerebral and Somatic Oximeter System. Before Somanetics, he worked at Abbott Laboratories in roles of increasing responsibility, including Director of the Canadian Hospital Products Division and Director of Sales and Marketing for the Critical Care Monitoring business unit. Bruce started his career in sales and product/market management at Edwards Lifesciences. Since the sale of Somanetics in 2010, he has consulted with numerous medical device start-up companies and investors in the medical device space while also pursuing other interests. Bruce has an MBA from Arizona State University.

Revital Shechter, Ph.D

Co-Founder and CSO

Prior to founding Ornim Inc., Revital was a researcher at the Weizmann Institute of Science and has held a senior position in a Start-Up company in the field of fiber optics communication. Revital received her Ph.D. in Physics from the Weizmann Institute of Science in 2001. She focused her work on planar elements and systems for imaging, display and communication. During her graduate studies Revital won an Eshkol Scholarship for Excellency. Dr. Shechter is an inventor of several patent-pending applications in the field of optics and non-invasive monitoring, and an author of more than twenty peer reviewed papers and conference proceedings in the field of optics and displays.

Eli Kotzero

Site Manager & CFO

Eli Kotzero has extensive experience in the field of finance and accounting. Prior to joining Ornim Medical Ltd, Eli was the CFO of ITGI Medical (symbol ITGI in TASE) – the company that brought to the world heterologous tissue covered stents for Cardiovascular and Neurovascular interventions. Prior to joining ITGI Medical, Eli has worked as Controller at Itamar Medical Ltd (symbol ITMR in TASE) from 2006 to 2010, a company that serves the Cardiology market as well as Sleep Medicine. Prior to that, he has served as CPA for KPMG’s Israeli office, Somekh Chaikin.
Eli is a CPA and holds a BA in Law and Accounting and an MBA degree, both from Tel-Aviv University, Tel-Aviv, Israel.

Nahum Budin


Nahum Budin brings to Ornim more than twenty years of experience in definition, development, integration and successful implementation of various systems and technologies, where he also demonstrated continuous track record of pioneering new technologies and markets. During his career, Nahum has gained vast experience with the full product life cycle, including responsibility for product definition, product-development, delivery and roll out phases, as well as hands-on practice in various technologies. Nahum has also demonstrated a proven record of leading multidisciplinary R&D teams, including hardware, software, digital signal processing, bulk-optics, electro-optics, control and servo systems, image processing, mechanical engineering, tracking algorithms, medical devices, Command and Control systems, as well as large software applications. Nahum joined Ornim in 2009 as Director of Product Development with full responsibility for the definition, design and implementation of the next generation monitors product-line, including the c-FLOW™ monitor. Prior to his current position at Ornim, as an entrepreneur, Nahum co-founded Phonet Communications in 1995, to be acquired by VCON Telecommunication in 1999. Nahum also served as an R&D Department Manager for the Government of Israel, VP Product Development at Verint Systems, VP R&D at OrAccess, Project Manager at Teledata Networks and as an Analog Circuits Designer at the IDF.
Nahum holds a M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering and a B.Sc. (summa cum laude) in Electrical Engineering, both from the Tel-Aviv University, Tel-Aviv, Israel.

John Keane

COO and Chief Commercial Officer

John Keane has over 25 years of experience commercializing emerging medical technologies in the critical care environment, with a primary focus on cardiology, neurosurgery and anesthesia. John has been involved in over 30 product launches, many of which were disruptive in nature and required significant changes in the approach to patient care. John has held executive positions at Integra, MRI interventions, Masimo and Zoll. In each of these roles he was responsible for developing and executing the strategies to drive clinical adoption and corresponding revenue growth. All of these businesses experienced robust increases in sales and flourished under his leadership. John holds a degree in Economics and English from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, MA.
